In an episode entitled "Pot O' Gold", broadcast this week, Rory Flanagan, played by the Derry-born teen Damian McGinty, is introduced to audiences clad in emerald green from head to toe.

The seven-episode storyline for Flanagan has him trying to make friends but being bullied along the way, while loveable airhead Brittany, with whom he’s staying and is besotted, refers to him as “Rory Leprechaun” and believes he has magical powers.

McGinty got the part after winning a reality TV show, The Glee Project, this summer.
