Seven children died of AIDS

Seven children have died of AIDS, the Minister for Health and Children, said in a written reply. Mr Cowen said 18 children were suffering from AIDS, which represented 2.95 per cent of the total reported AIDS cases of 609. Of these 311, including the seven children, had died. Replying to Mr Dan Neville (FG, Limerick West), Mr Cowen said specialist treatment and care of children who were HIV positive, or who had AIDS, was provided at Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin.
