The sentencing of a doctor who pleaded guilty to filming a female patient using the toilet at his clinic has been adjourned until tomorrow.

Dr Deva Devendra (37) appeared before Judge Patrick Brady at Balbriggan District Court today where he was due to be sentenced over the incident, which took place at the Balbriggan Medical Centre on February 16th, 2010.

However, Judge Brady agreed to a request from the defendant's solicitor to further adjourn the case until tomorrow so that it can appear before Judge David Anderson, who heard the original application.

Dr Devendra, with an address at Balrothery Field, Balbriggan, pleaded guilty to harassment last month after a covert camera he had bought on the internet and set up in a toilet at the clinic was handed into gardaí by a woman who discovered it.

A total of 59 images were found on the camera and some of these showed the defendant setting up the device.

The married father-of-one admitted to the court in April that he had a "fetish" for watching women going to the toilet and said he had placed the camera in the clinic at which he no longer works.

The case was adjourned until today to allow for a probation report and documents relating to medical treatment Dr Devendra is currently receiving be filed.

The defendant will now appear before Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning.
