Second body recovered from River Barrow

Gardaí have recovered a second body from the River Barrow near Bagnalstown, Co Carlow this evening.

A garda spokesman said the man's body was found at around 6 p.m.

Earlier this afternoon a man's body was recovered from the river and taken to the nearby Carlow District Hospital.

Gardaí said there was nothing to indicate foul play in connection with the deaths and they are at present not linking the discoveries to the disappearance of two Carlow brothers last weekend.

Mr Jim McGrath (36) and his brother Jody were last seen at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday in Bagnalstown.
