The search for a seaman believed to have fallen overboard from a tanker off the coast of Co Cork resumed at 8 am this morning.

The crewman was reported missing late yesterday afternoon and a search by an Irish Coastguard helicopter from Shannon and lifeboats from Castletownbere andValentia was instigated but was called last night due to bad light.

The 44-year-old from the Cape Verde Islands was working aboard the Forth Fisher- a British-registered tanker.
