Scotland's First Minister, Jack McConnell, has been questioned by British police in connection with the cash-for-honours inquiry.

He was spoken to in London by officers from Scotland Yard last month as a witness.

It is understood the police inquired about Mr McConnell's nomination for a peerage for Lord Boyd of Duncansby in 2004.
