Berlin - A German agency has located the grave of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder's father, 57 years after Fritz Schroder died while a soldier during the second World War in Romania, the tabloid Bild am Sonntag reported yesterday. Fritz Schroder died fighting in the German army against partisans on April 10th or 11th, 1944, and was buried along with other war dead in the Romanian village of Ceanu Mare, Bild said, citing a German agency which keeps track of war dead.
A Bild reporter who visited the village reported seeing an unmarked metal cross marking the spot next to an Orthodox Christian church.
