Save Energy: Use your car less. Twenty-five per cent of car journeys are less than two miles. Some 58 per cent of car trips are under five miles, so you could consider using public transport, car-pooling or cycling. At peak school-travel time (8.50 a.m.), nearly one in five cars on urban roads is taking children to school. Why not try car-pooling? Or, if it is safe to do so, try walking or cycling.
