Baghdad - The Iraqi President, Mr Saddam Hussein, vowed yesterday that there would be "no compromise", and urged Iraqis to continue the resistance.

He was in his olive green military uniform as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces for the first time since the launch early on Thursday of the joint US-British Operation Desert Fox. On the eve of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, Mr Saddam appealed to Muslim Arabs to look at what was happening to Iraqis.
