RTE has decided it will no longer carry advertising for "alcopops", the alcoholic soft drinks aimed at young people. The decision was made last month.
Advertisements for alcohol are not carried on 2FM radio, while spirits cannot be advertised on RTE television. Ads for "alcopops" have not been broadcast by the station for some months.
