Stena Lines have cancelled all Fast Ferrysailings from Rosslare to Fishguard today. The conventional ferry will operate but it is fully booked with punters travelling to Cardiff for the big rugby match this weekend. All you rugby fans should plan accordingly.

If you’re planning on taking any ferries this weekend, it would be wise to call ahead, as a number of sailings have been cancelled due to high winds.

The 6 p.m. and 8.45 p.m. Irish Ferries sailings from Dublin to Holyhead have been cancelled for this evening, due to heavy winds of between 55 and 65 knots.

Those of you planning on heading out in your boats this evening should be wary, as Met Éireann has issued a gale warning today.

South to southwest winds, gradually veering west to southwest, will reach gale or strong gale force on all Irish coastal waters and on the Irish Sea. Winds may occasionally reach storm force on the west and south coasts.

And we’re not done with the rain just yet: expect heavy showers throughout the country during the evening, with some clearing late. It would probably be wise to bring an umbrella as you head out on the town(probably good advice any time of year).

Tomorrow expect mostly cloudy skies and periods of rain with a few breaks of sunshine. The brisk winds will persist and temperatures will be between 6-14°C. On Sunday, expect much of the same with temps between 8-12°C.

Ozzfest 2002will be taking over Kildare this weekend, especially in the areas surrounding Punchestown Racecourse, where young concert-goers from all over the country will be flocking. Major delays and traffic Restrictions are expected.

Racing at the Curragh will also be causing traffic problems in Kildare this weekend. Be wary of traffic around race start times. On Saturday, expect traffic delays around 2.10 p.m. when the first race kicks off and also around the also race occurring at 5.20 p.m. Sunday’s first race will be at 2.25 p.m. and the last race at 5.35 p.m.

Bus Eireann will run special bus services from Dublin to the Curragh on Saturday and Sunday. The buses will depart 90 minutes before the first race and return to Dublin immediately after the meeting finishes.

Keep your eyes open for the 200 cyclists who are taking part in stage seven of the FBD Milk Ras 8 Day International Cycle Race. It will be affecting the following areas on Saturday: Arklow, Co. Wicklow- Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow Starts at Arklow at 11am to Rathnew and Ashford. Stage 8 on Sunday will affect the area around Phoneix Park Circuit. Leave the car at home and walk to where you need to go. You can cheer the cyclists on while you’re at it.

Flights to and from the UK into Shannon, Cork, and Dublin Airports are running on time and there are no delays reported.
