Rotherham United manager Ronnie Moore today hit out at Republic of Ireland caretaker boss Don Givens for not selecting striker Alan Lee in the squad to face Greece in tomorrow's friendly international in Athens.

The powerful Galway-born striker has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances this season for Rotherham - who sit ninth in the First Division - but was overlooked when Givens named his original 25-man squad eight days ago.

Lee was snubbed again at the weekend when Givens called up Bohemians front man Glen Crowe following the withdrawals of Robbie Keane, Clinton Morrison and Graham Barrett through injury.

Crowe was today selected to partner Tottenham's Gary Doherty in attack at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.

"I just cant understand how Alan has been overlooked particularly in view of the fact that several other players have pulled out after being called up," said Moore.

"I'm sure no one has been to watch him but you can rest assured I will be contacting the Irish FA to make sure they are aware of Alan's capabilities and consider him for the next game."

Lee, a former Aston Villa and Burnley player, has been capped five times at under-21 level.
