The Court of Criminal Appeal has reserved judgment on an application by a Dublin man, who is serving a 14-year sentence on drugs charges, to have his conviction quashed and a new trial ordered.

Eamonn Kelly of Furry Park Road, Dublin, was jailed in 1994 on charges of possession of cocaine. Kelly alleges the DPP failed to disclose to the defence that a co-accused, Mr John Francis Conlon, was a police informer who had worked for the FBI, US Customs and the UK authorities. The DPP has opposed his application.
