Labour market figures in Northern Ireland show a "substantially higher" rate of unemployment among Catholics than Protestants. The statistics, published yesterday, are based on the findings of the 1997 Labour Force Survey, and show that 62 per cent of Catholics and 38 per cent of Protestants are registered as unemployed.
