A news conference today will publish a report on bullying and sexual harassment in the Defence Forces.

An external committee chaired by consultant, Ms Eileen Doyle, was set up to examine the issues last autumn after a former officer said there were considerable problems with bullying in the Defence Forces.

The committee has been examining bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment in the forces and has sent out questionnaires to male and female soldiers.

Its findings will be published at 3 p.m. this afternoon and the report will suggest how the issues should be dealt with by the Defence Forces.

The Minister for Defence, Mr Michael Smith, and the Chief of Staff, Lieut Gen Colm Mangan, will attend the news conference.
