Northern Secretary Dr John Reid faces a "packed" schedule of introductory meetings with Northern political parties today.

Dr Reid was expected to start immersing himself in the delicate negotiations during the familiarisation talks with the main players.
He has already been briefed by Northern Ireland security chiefs and met First and Deputy First Ministers Mr David Trimble and Mr Seamus Mallon.
He is said to have been busy in recent days reading up on the negotiations.
