British world half-marathon champion Paula Radcliffe may try for a second year to win two titles in a weekend at the world cross-country championships in Dublin next month.
Radcliffe, who won the world half-marathon title last year and is one of Sonia O'Sullivan's main rivals, will run the eight-kilometre event on March 24th and then decide whether to run over four km at Leopardstown racecourse the following day.
Only O'Sullivan has won both events since the short race was added to the programme in Marrakesh, Morocco, three years ago.
The Olympic 5,000 metres silver medalist, who is training and racing in Australia, will be entered for both distances in Dublin.
The world cross-country championships have been a constant source of frustration for Radcliffe. Since winning the junior title in 1992 she has won two silvers and a bronze in the eight-kilometre race. Reuters
