Queen's University is to award former US President Mr Bill Clinton an honorary degree in Belfast next month in recognition of his role in Northern Ireland's peace process.
"The former President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, is to receive an honorary degree from Queen's University on May 24th", a statement said.
Mr Clinton, who is to return to Belfast for the first time since his presidency ended, will receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws for services to peace in Northern Ireland.
Mr Clinton, in a keynote speech in Belfast in December, urged all sides to make concessions that would speed up full implementation of the Belfast Agreement.
