PSNI question man over 'al-Qaeda links'

A man is still being questioned by police in the North over alleged links with the al-Qaeda terrorist group.

A man is still being questioned by police in the North over alleged links with the al-Qaeda terrorist group.

The Algerian man (25) was detained yesterday at Maghaberry Prison, near Lisburn, Co Antrim. He was originally detained over immigration offences.

The suspect has been taken to Gough Barracks in Armagh city for questioning. Police have been given an extra 72 hours to question him.
