Police in Belfast are investigating an arson attack on a flat in the west of the city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The attack happened shortly at 2.30am when a flat on Suffolk Road was set alight.

The flat was empty at the time.

Three people including a police officer were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

Police are trying to establish a motive for the attack and anyone with information is asked to contact them.
