Police in Northern Ireland are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a frozen food outlet in Portadown, Co Armagh, yesterday evening.

Shortly after 5pm two armed men entered the outlet on Meadow Lane. One man, with a knife, remained at the door while another, armed with a handgun, threatened two female staff members before escaping with cash.

The men escaped in a grey Toyota Corolla that was later abandoned in the Garvaghy Road area of Portadown.

Witnesses described the man carrying the handgun as being in his 40s, clean-shaven, with grey hair. He was wearing a monkey-type hat, white jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The other man was described as wearing a dark top with blue jeans and a black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Lurgan.
