London - Environmental activists ended a demonstration on the world's biggest ferris wheel yesterday when the last two protesters voluntarily descended to cheers from onlookers.

The pair, who spent more than 24 hours clinging to the structure in central London to protest against major dam projects across the world and slept suspended in a hammock, were arrested as soon as they touched the ground and whisked off to join their fellow protesters at a nearby police station.
