A parish priest has called on people to observe the three "Rs" so that Ireland's roads might be made safer. Father Joe McCluskey said they represented "Respect, Responsibility and Reverence".
He was addressing mourners for the third day at St Mary's Church, Threemilehouse, Co Monaghan where the funeral of the fifth and last of the victims of last Saturday's road crash near the village was taking place. John McQuillan (27) was the eldest of those killed.
The small hilltop church was again crowded with more than 800 people.
Fr McCluskey called on people to place greater value on human life in their everyday activities.
