Washington - US Secretary of State Colin Powell admitted yesterday to having blundered last week in a remark he made about Taiwan. He was commenting on remarks he made in a Congressional hearing in which he referred to Taiwan as the "Republic of China".
The comments drew swift protests from Beijing, which opposes any official recognition of Taiwan countries that maintain diplomatic relations with mainland China.
