Donegal have beaten Louth 3-16 to 0-09 after the controversial National Football League division 2A tie finally took place in Ballyshannon tonight.
The match had been postponed amid controversy over home venue last month.
The fixture had originally been announced as a home game for Donegal and set for Ballybofey with Longford claiming they were entitled to a home venue. After revisiting the matter, the GAA refixed the game for Pearse Park, Longford, but after a Donegal appeal, switched it to Ballyshannon again.
Given their impressive scoring difference, Donegal's win virtually assures the team of a swift return to Division One, despite have a top-of-the-table denouement with Roscommon next Sunday.
