A group of "very vulnerable people who were done a grave injustice" can now get some satisfaction, the Tanaiste said, as she introduced legislation to provide a lump-sum payment to former workers in the Irish Sweepstakes.
The 147 workers, or representatives of those who have died since they were made redundant in 1987 without pension, will each receive a £20,000 payment.
Ms Harney said the Bill represented the final chapter in the saga.
