Police have recovered a bag containing blast-bombs in a loyalist area of west Belfast

Police have recovered a bag containing blast-bombs in a loyalist area of west Belfast. An RUC patrol made the discovery at a derelict house off the lower Shankill Road yesterday evening.

Meanwhile, the home of a prominent Belfast republican has been targeted by bombers.

A blast-bomb was thrown at the home of Mr Liam Shannon in La Salle Park near the Falls Road early yesterday morning.
