Paris - Striking Air France pilots, who have already promised to transport World Cup soccer teams to France, yesterday offered to transport ticket holders as well.

SNPL pilots union spokesman, Mr Christian Paris, told France 2 television his union would suggest Air France put on special World Cup flights, with access limited to match ticket holders.

The striking pilots would fly the planes without pay, he said, and suggested the airline management could "at least" offer the passengers special fares. The pilots, who have been on strike for seven days, oppose Air France plans to slash their salaries by 15 per cent.
