SIPTU is "resting" its pickets on Dublin's toll bridges over the weekend to allow for talks to try to resolve the two-week-old strike, writes Padraig Yeates.
The picketing has cost the company an estimated 15 per cent of revenue on the East Link and West Link bridges. It claims that its payroll bill would increase by 25 per cent if it conceded the union's demands.
After separate discussions yesterday with the Labour Court's vice-chairman, Mr Kevin Duffy, both sides agreed to re-enter conciliation talks at the Labour Relations Commission today.
