Oil and gas exploration company Petroceltic has issued an update on its Isarene permit in the Illizi Basin in South Eastern Algeria.
The testing unCovered a gas column in excess of 80 metres in the Ordovician reservoir in well AT-3, with further testing revealing the gas condensate discovery extends for a distance of over 22km, from AT-1 to AT-3.
However, fracture stimulation used to achieve commercial flow-rates from the Ordovician reservoir in the Illizi Basin, could not be completed in the well due to highly stressed reservoir rock at the well location.
Testing is expected to resume later this year.
