A 24-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a car early today near Buncrana, Co Donegal.

A 24-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a car early today near Buncrana, Co Donegal.

The man was walking with his companion at Greenbanks, Muff shortly after 5 a.m. today when he was struck by the car.

Gardaí are investigating the incident.

The man is the fourth victim of road collisions in the Buncrana area since Thursday night.

Three teenagers were killed on Thursday night when their car struck a bridge and plunged 10 feet into a field.

Liz-Anne O'Keeffe (17), was the sole survivor of the crash. She is being treated for her injuries at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
