UK publisher Pearson is to buy publishing firm AGS Publishing from privately held WRC Media for $270 million in cash.

UK publisher Pearson is to buy publishing firm AGS Publishing from privately held WRC Media for $270 million in cash.

AGS publishes assessments and curriculum materials for US school psychologists, teachers and students, with an emphasis on students who are performing below grade level.

Pearson said the deal would be earnings-neutral in 2005 and would add to adjusted earnings per share from 2006.
