The chairman of the newly appointed Parades Commission in Northern Ireland, Mr Alistair Graham, yesterday admitted the body will not be able, on its own, to resolve the difficulties at Drumcree this year.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Mr Graham said the view that residents groups were purely a front for Sinn Fein was an oversimplification".

While his team has met a variety of interested parties, no formal talks had taken place with the Orange Order. "I have been disappointed at the slow response of the Orange Order to have formal discussions."
