Sir Michael Stoute's colt, winner of the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last Friday, was taken out of the race at the final declaration stage for the mile-and-a-half contest.

Stoute will instead rely on Best Alibi, runner-up to Septimus in the Dante Stakes at York and sixth behind Sir Percy in the Vodafone Derby.

The Aidan O'Brien duo of Grafton Street and Road To Mandalay have also been withdrawn from the race, won last year by Hurricane Run.

Alain de Royer-Dupre's market leader Darsi stands his ground - as does Dragon Dancer, a valiant runner-up in the blue riband.

Gentlewave and Best Name represent French trainers Andre Fabre and Robert Collet respectively, while David Elsworth's Classic Punch also takes his chance.

Monsieur Henri, Heliostatic, Cougar Bay and Land Before Time complete the line-up for the Group One event.
