Gardaí are today investigating a fire that destroyed a factory in Co Meath earlier this morning.

Gardaí are today investigating a fire that destroyed a factory in Co Meath earlier this morning.

The fire broke out some time before 4 a.m. at the Millbrook Foods plant near the town of Oldcastle.

A number of firefighters and fire brigade units were deployed to tackle the blaze, which was eventually brought under control.

A number of the surrounding roads have been closed off, and diversions are in place. The cause of the fire is not known and there are no reported injuries.
