RUC officers leaving the force under post-Patten report redundancy plans have been targeted for recruitment by police forces in the UK and abroad. A memo listing the various options open to personnel who want to take on another job before retiring has been circulated to officers about to leave the RUC.
Among the forces said to be accepting applications Lothian and Borders, Suffolk, Tayside and Dyfed Pows.
