One 2 One, Britain's fourth largest mobile phone operator, says it plans to eliminate 900 jobs, or about 13 per cent of its 7,000-strong workforce.

The mobile phone firm, owned by Deutsche Telekom, said the job cuts were part of a business review started last month which it expects to be completed early in 2002.

"The reduction will consist of a combination of compulsory and voluntary redundancies, as well as natural attrition," One 2 One said in a statement today.
