OJ Simpson has been cleared of all charges in the road rage case he was fighting.

Mr Simpson was accused of reaching inside Mr Jeffrey Pattinson's car in a suburb of Miami, Florida last year, grabbing his glasses and scratching his face.

The jury deliberated for about 90 minutes before clearing Mr Simpson, who faced up to 16 years in jail had he been convicted of auto burglary and battery for the confrontation.

During closing arguments, prosecutor Ms Abbe Rifkin did everything but call the defendent a liar, saying the actor came out in him as he testified.

"He is a figment of his own imagination. He's a legend in his own mind. He has a sense of entitlement," she said. "Mr Simpson's story changes and evolves with time."

The drivers offered vastly different accounts of what happened. Mr Simpson had denied reaching into the car and said the men confronted each other outside their vehicles.
