Tokyo - The Japanese Prime Minister, Mr Keizo Obuchi, carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle yesterday, bringing into his government a new Home Affairs Minister as part of a coalition deal with the small Liberal Party.

Mr Obuchi's Liberal Democratic Party kept all other cabinet posts. The reshuffle followed nearly two months of talks aimed at ironing out differences between the two parties.
