Irish Internet consultancy firm Nua is to lay off 22 members of its workforce,

ireland.comhas learned. The news comes within days of the announcement that ecommerce company, Ebeon, was to close with the loss of 200 jobs.

Nua employs close to 60 people and has offices in Dublin and New York. The layoffs are understood to have occurred in Dublin.

A senior source within the company said it is hoped the layoffs would be temporary and that staff would return to work when sales contracts have been secured.

The company is due release a statement tomorrow.
