Infrastructure firm National Toll Roads has today confirmed an initial €30 million investment in Emerald Bio-diesel, a bio-diesel facility in Germany.
NTR is already a significant shareholder in Emerald Bio-diesel. The German firm will start work soon on an integrated oil mill and bio-diesel facility north of Berlin with a view to beginning production by the end of next year.
When full capacity is reached in 2008 the plant will produce 150 million litres.
The factory will use locally grown rapeseed as a raw material and produce fuel for the German transport market.
