A solicitor from Derry has been chosen to join the international defence team representing the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
Desmond Doherty has been heavily involved in the investigations into Bloody Sunday.
At the Saville Inquiry he represented the family of Barney McGuigan, one of the thirteen unarmed civilians shot dead by British army paratroopers in the Bogside area of Derry on Bloody Sunday in January 1972.
