Denmark is to host its first European tour event next season, it was announced today.

Denmark is to host its first European tour event next season, it was announced today.

The £1million Nordic Open will be at Simon's Golf Club near Copenhagen from August 7th-10th.

Four Danish golfers - Thomas Bjorn, Anders and Soren Hansen and Steen Tinning - have won titles this season. Only Sweden can boast more winners.

Former tour player Anders Sorensen, now chief executive officer of promoters Danish Golf, said as the three-year agreement was announced:
