Frederick, Md - A Nobel Prize-winning medical research scientist was freed yesterday after spending a year in a Maryland prison for sexually molesting a teenage boy. Mr Daniel Carleton Gajdusek was accused of sexually abusing a boy he brought home to Middletown, Maryland, from a research trip to Micronesia, one of about 50 young men he brought from the South Pacific. Mr Gajdusek defended his actions as being within the cultural norms of Micronesia.
