The Government has not yet decided on a date for the general election, according to the Taoiseach. Mr Bruton, in Navan yesterday at the official sod turning ceremony for a new coronary care unit and male medical ward at Our Lady's Hospital, told reporters no decision had been taken on a date, nor was one imminent.
The new units will be completed next year at a cost of £1.2 million and will be equipped with state of the art technology, he said. The chairman of the North Eastern Health Board, Dr Hugh Dolan, said the development was a clear statement of the board's commitment to the hospital staff and patients.
