London - A woman who claims to be the mother of Dodi Fayed's love child is not to be prosecuted for deception, police said yesterday.

Ms Diane Holliday (37), of Little Saxham, Suffolk, was questioned by Metropolitan Police detectives investigating an alleged financial deception.

Ms Holliday, who is divorced and has two teenage children, was arrested by Scotland Yard detectives in February shortly after she told newspapers of her involvement with Dodi Fayed.

She said Mr Fayed, who died in the Paris car crash which claimed the life of Princess Diana in August last year, was the father of her daughter, Marni, who will be aged two in November.
