One of the busiest roads on the outskirts of Dublin has was closed today after two trucks - one containing nitric acid - crashed.

Dublin Fire Brigade, the Hazordous Chemical Unit and the Garda attended the scene of the crash on the Ashbourne Road. The exit to the road from the M50 was closed to traffic.

The crash happened at 12.15 p.m. and gardaí said it was expected to re-open at about 2 p.m. No chemical spillage has occurred, a Garda spokesman said.
