Nine injured in Co Offaly three-car collision

Nine people, including four children, were injured last night when three cars collided in Co Offaly.

Nine people, including four children, were injured last night when three cars collided in Co Offaly.

The incident occurred at Taylors Cross near Birr sometime after 8.30 p.m.

Five of the injured were taken to Tullamore General Hospital. A child and his mother and father are in a stable condition after they were admitted; two others were discharged last night.

The other four injured - a mother and her three children - were taken to Portiuncla Hospital in Co Galway. The woman and two of the children were discharged while the other child remains in hospital where her condition is described as not serious.
