Hopes of averting an all-out strike at National Irish Bank rose yesterday after the company agreed to meet with the Irish Bank Officials Association to discuss new salary structures.
Last week IBOA members rejected performance-related salary scales. Both sides are to meet later today. Welcoming the move, Mr Larry Broderick of the IBOA said the union would still be looking for NIB to defer its Friday deadline for employees to sign new contracts. Otherwise Monday's strike would go ahead.
