Fáilte Ireland is closing its tourist information office at the Brú na Bóinne visitors’ centre for Newgrange and Knowth, one of the country’s biggest tourist attractions.
It says a shop which sells books and gifts owned by the Office of Public Works will remain and “tourism information will continue to be available”.
A spokesperson for Fáilte Ireland said “90 per cent” of its activity at the centre is related to the shop. The office is to close at the end of the year and the four full-time staff will be redeployed.
